Latest updates on 1 Bligh development
The construction of Australia's next generation in high performing sustainable office space, 1 Bligh is moving rapidly towards completion by mid-year 2011.
The building structure is now complete with the atrium glazed roof, also known as the "fifth façade", now underway, along with the installation of roof top solar pipe work and the finalisation of the external glazed façade. The winter garden façade works will be fully installed in February. Work on the 12-metre high rooftop wind screen has also commenced, with glazing scheduled for early March.
In March, extensive changes will be unveiled at ground level with the removal of the perimeter hoarding to the site boundaries, the commencement of paving for public footpaths and entry steps, and the installation of 14 palm trees and street landscaping.
The extensive commissioning phase has begun for low-rise floors. Meanwhile, final equipment in the rooftop plant room is being installed and commissioned and will continue through to June.
The Clayton Utz fit-out has also entered its final phase with a spectacular curved steel staircase completed and the "fish scale" tiling to the reception area well underway. The finishes trades are working through all levels and workstation installation has begun.
